Hello Everyone!
I know you have all read and seen the news about the unspeakable devastation in Japan. This tragedy struck home for me and my family. My cousin Peter, one of only two first cousins I have, really like a brother, moved to Japan roughly 15 years ago. When he first moved from the US to Japan he moved to Fukushima. This is where he fell in love with the people of Japan and they, in turn, treated him like family. A few years back he moved to Tokyo and has been living there since. He was in the city when the Earthquake hit. We are very lucky that he survived, unharmed to tell the story however, thousands did not. The outcome of this tragedy and the affect it will have will take many years to see. Peter had a tough choice to make these past few days, pack up and leave to protect himself and leave behind his friends and loved ones, their fate unknown or stay behind with the people who took him standing strong with them to help put the pieces back together again. Peter chose to leave, a very hard choice to make. However, we can still help Peter's friends and our allied country of Japan. I am only asking that everyone donate what they can. $1-$1000 makes a difference. It will make a huge difference in the lives of these very strong and courageous people. If you are not able to donate I ask that you say a prayer or keep them in your thoughts. Thank you - Kara DePaula Lynch
